Are you coming to see Bartle burn?
Burning Bartle - Where is it?
The Burning of Bartle takes place in the Yorkshire Dales village of West Witton, about 4 miles west of Leyburn, North Yorkshire on the A684. A postcode of DL8 4LP for sat navs will deliver you to the middle of the village.
Please note that if you're coming with a caravan or large vehicle, you should avoid any route approaching from the South down Grassgill as this narrow road includes a series of hairpin bends on 1:4 hills and there's a good chance you'll get stuck!
Parking is something of a problem in the village and we'd ask that you do NOT park in Main Street (the A684) itself.
There will be parking available at the village playing field (near to the Eastern end). We strongly suggest you aim to get parked here by 8:30pm at the latest, then walk up to the start of the procession for 9pm.
